Ramblings on Prague
Done with Prague, after I'm finished writing here I'll be heading east, to Olomouc.Prague... is nice. Alot of clubs, such as the Cross Club just next to Holesovice station...
Ugh, that reminds me. After studying Spanish for three years and German for four, Czech is a complete disaster for me. I remember coming in and asking where "delnika" street is. Well, apparently in Czech "Delnicka" is pronounced "Dael-nitzka". So I wasted a good half hour asking information before I finally figure it out, and from there it's 10 minutes from tram to hostel. I find it's a chore to practice my linguistics here, as I did in Germany; I usually only get words after trial and error, and maybe asking a local.
Stuff like "Nadrazi" or "Holesovice", which are pronounced "Na drayzee" and "Whole eh Sho Vitze", respectively.
I've heard that Polish is worse, though. Still, it's been a headache asking for directions, as english is not as common here and there's no way in hell I'll be learning a language like this in a week, even just the basics.
But the people are nice, and the girls are friendly, and, personally speaking, very pretty. It's a bit of a shock really after the disdain of their American counterparts and the coolness of the Germans and Austrians. But, maybe that's just me.
But I'm rambling, and I can see that my time at the computer is running low. I've been nudged into thinking about going to see the celebrations at Berlin next month.... could be interesting, seeing that it's the 20th anniversary of the fall of Communism and the wall.
