A hopeful goal
So, it's been a rather roller-coaster of two weeks since I have come home. On one hand I do have alot of spare time, since I don't have to worry about where I am going to sleep for the next week or where to get food. I have a warm home with loving parents and more than enough money. But on the other hand I have been attempting to fill my days with job hunting, writing, meeting people on the street, catching up with old friends, and preparing for my future. All in all, very stressful, especially job hunting. I have met many people on the street and old friends who, while they may have had jobs of one sort or another months ago, they are, alas, out of luck now. My own parents have kept their jobs, but at a reduced pay. I have family obligations. Not to bring in money to pay for food or bills, but to make my own place in the world. For the last half century, it has been the American Way for the son to leave his home and make his place in the world, on his own education, on his own time and with his own effort. My father became a manager of Internet Technology at a company, my uncles, successful salesmen, lawyers, engineers. My grandfather? A rancher, a plumber, a hunter. A man of the earth.
Me?
My pursuits have always been intellectual. History. Sociology. Psychology. Writing. Archeology. These aree my discovered talents, and I find more and more now that, I can indeed put them to useful work. That is what I have been doing, and that is my goal.
