College Plans
So...I am finished with the ranch work. Last week was the finale of working for my grandfather; I came back via a friend of grandfather's last saturday. Went to Easter Mass on Sunday and visited my future campus at Morris on Sunday and Monday.
I'll be going for an undergraduate degree. Anthropology, specializing in Archeology. Havn't picked my classes or made dorm preparations, but All of that is months away. I can afford to wait. Why am I going to college?
I've always done better in school "doing my own thing". Academics of one sort or another. In my case history and political theory have always held my interest, and I think if I can find a way to apply those interest in the real world, say a professorship or in archeology, then I will be doing what I love best.
Money is no object, nor fame. I think I just want to do what I want to do. There are some in my family who want to make money for fame for themselves. Let them.
I am going to college to learn to make something out of my life. during my stay there I saw a few who were, in effect, wasting their parents money. Partying every night, or just switching majors every semester "just to see what I want to do in life".
I hope to go to college for a nobler, and better, purpose.
