Yours Truly, with the US Census

$17 an hour, 40 hours a week. $680 a week. The Census is expected to have a heavier workload than usual this year, so it'll be working all summer. Three or four months of this? Nice.

I'll be going door-to-door and asking questions to those who did not send in the Census mail on April 1st.

There's quite a few other new employees who went to Paid Training with me today. We'll all be assigned a small district every week, about 60 residences, to do our job. It'll all be in Ramsey county, and in a fairly small area, so I expect to be walking to most destinations. A pity, as the job reimburses most expenses incurred on the job, including gas and phone calls.

I'm really excited. The census happens only once every ten years, and I'll be a part of it!
