We say that the Vox populi is the spirit of our nation... That our revolution came from the will of the people. I don't like people, and I don't think that revolutions are at their best when "the people" are in charge. I like a person. I may like a small group, usually not to exceed eight. But PEOPLE? To quote a certain scifi movie: "People are dumb, panicky animals, and you know it."
These are just some thoughts coming after a reading of la Terreur.
I don't like crowds. They lurch about, igniting the air with their passin. You're swept up in it, you can't control yourself. You don't think. You're not a person, you are Legion.
When crowds get political, well.....
History shows us what happens.
More to come later, but for now:
Damn the revolution, and damn the Vox Populi, too.
