Stuff for Sale!

General NewsDidn't think of this before, but what the heck.

Since I am heading away to college I have been trying to get rid of some of my old books and games and things. The list runs from old computer game strategy guides to comic books (at least one PS238, I think) to yesteryear's PC games. Shoot me an email at bfriendshuh@gmail.com if you're interested. I'm not picky, so the price range runs from 4-20 dollars per item, with the upper end reserved for the bundle of games that I got.

Worries

General NewsWell, it's been an on and off summer. Several weeks have passed since my last major round of posts and my renewal last week. I've been trying to keep busy, but alot of this hiatus has to do with sheer laziness, and me trying to find a job. It's been one disappointment after another on that front. people not calling back, misinformation, "Oops sorry the position has been filled sorry to waste your time"-itis, y'know, the whole nine yards.

General NewsOr, why the hell can't I get a job anywhere else?

Yes, I've finally managed to find a job. But it's of the worst kind. A temporary employment company named The Command Center located in Hopkins, a good twenty minutes drive on the freeway, plus more if traffics bad. And traffic is always bad in the mornings, when i get off of work.

The Hobbit in Russian

General NewsThis is something cool. The illustrations themselves are very different than what we see in the west. Just goes to show that different artists and different people have different conceptions of otherwise fairly well known characters.

Yours Truly, with the US Census

General News

$17 an hour, 40 hours a week. $680 a week. The Census is expected to have a heavier workload than usual this year, so it'll be working all summer. Three or four months of this? Nice.

I'll be going door-to-door and asking questions to those who did not send in the Census mail on April 1st.

See, this is the kind of thing that I would love to do as an archeology student.

There is only so much that can be gleaned from theory and research. sometimes you have to go out and experiment on what you are studying, and the gladiators of ancient Rome are as good an idea as any.

College Plans

General NewsSo...

I am finished with the ranch work. Last week was the finale of working for my grandfather; I came back via a friend of grandfather's last saturday. Went to Easter Mass on Sunday and visited my future campus at Morris on Sunday and Monday.

I'll be going for an undergraduate degree. Anthropology, specializing in Archeology. Havn't picked my classes or made dorm preparations, but All of that is months away. I can afford to wait.
